Help with outlook and norton? Hi. I am unable to receive email through my outlook express account and have now opened xtra one. I can send but not receive. I have been told by xtra that its because I have tried to delete norton it has block the port. It aparantly is a common problem according to them. Is this true? Any suggestions?

Thanks But been on the phone trying to sort it out with them and they dont seem to be any help ironically contacted Norton and they said they could would sort the problem out for $140 gauranteed. This makes me more than a little suspicious of norton.

You may have to get it off your hard drive i heard someone mention it last year its still in there even if you remove it from change and remove. they had to log in the personal number or pin something that you installed when it was loaded on the PC..

geek_dstmMarch 19, 2008, 12:22 am#11
Ok... It comes up with nothing when I click on the download button. As if I have been disconected or no such site, that sort of thing.

I had the same trouble and had to get rid of Norton it was working against Xtra's own inbuilt antivirus system since then no problem at all. I just deinstalled it. Radical I know but it worked. Hope this helps.

Dump both nortons crap and stop using unsecure pop3 email clients, nothing made by microcrap will ever be save . your best bet would be to use thunderbird mail client, never in hell out-lock rubish....
geek_intradeMarch 21, 2008, 5:08 pm#15
Thunderbirds are go! http://en.www.mozilla.com/en/thunderbird/

Did you just uninstall Norton because you need to uninstall all Symantec files too because they are all part of Norton
