Low Life Scum Burglars

geek_taraz88August 26, 2008, 4:51 pm#1
Low Life Scum Burglars God I hate those people of steal off others. My house in Dallington, Christchurch got ripped off this morning.. they smashed a window and took 40" LCD, digital cameras, nike and vans shoes and dvd players. If anyone sees these items appearing suspisioucly cheap on trade me or similar. I would urge you not to buy them as they are probably stolen goods!

Ah beautiful Christchurch.
geek_julieandcasperAugust 26, 2008, 5:51 pm#4
Sorry to hear that. :( I'd be crushed if one or two of my things went missing and horrified to be broken into.

Burglary Maybe you should tell the police and buy a burglar alarm system and lights, locks e.t.c What brand LCD? should we see any of the stuff turning up on trademe. More detail please so the community can help.

Better buy a triple A insurance rather than good alarm system. I get into the same situation last 2 years, they just took my everything and the only thing left is cell phone charger :)

Call the cops We've been burgled twice, they caught the crooks, got convictions and both of them spent time behind bars.

Taraz. If you have serial numbers of any of the electronic equipment, post them. Also contact any places that operate as pawnshops, Cash Converters etc. Seems that no-one has any respect for anyone else anymore, if its not nailed down it'll get stolen. With the economy going down the tubes I reckon the amount of burglaries will climb.
geek_taraz88August 27, 2008, 10:22 am#9
Thankyou guys for your messages I dont have serial numbers handy at the moment but will have a look through the papers later. The TV is a 39" Sony Bravia, the camera is a Uniden 5megapixel silver colour, a pair of large vans shoes and mens nike shoes that are brown. The dvd players arent too important.. the main thing is the TV and getting justice on whoever did it to us!

Now cheer us all up by telling us you had insurance.
geek_tylosandAugust 27, 2008, 4:28 pm#12
this got me thinking, trademe should have a system where people can search multiple items and see which seller has sold/ currently selling those items. eg in this case you could search uniden, nike, sony bravia. there might possible be few people selling all those items at once but it would definately narrow down the list, especially if you put in more specific keywords such as 39" sony bravia. though i suppose then people would just use multiple accounts.

Hey Tylo, that's a great idea, I've been doing that today and also might go round some of the local cash converter and pawn shops. Thankgod we are fully insured :) Thanks for your messages guys.

Get a good inside dog That doesn't moult&shed hair everywhere,so NO Malamute-which are bred not to be guard dogs & don't ever bark, are completely non territorial & people friendly. But they do look the part.....I got ripped off while my dog watched.
geek_1clickawayAugust 28, 2008, 10:57 am#15
Re Maybe you dog was 'in' on it? Is he prancing about with a new collar? :&2;
geek_taraz88August 28, 2008, 12:07 pm#16
Wow Deodar I always heard Mals were great guard dogs and very territorial, my next door neighbour had a female mal and a guy tried to burgle her but didnt succeed as the mal chased the guy over her back fence and managed to bite off his watch haha! My dog is a german shepherd and I can totally understand the moulting fur shedding comment - thats the only down side about having the great big furball cos hes a great guard dog but in this instance I had him in the car with me :( doesnt look like hes going to get as many car rides from now on.
geek_deodarAugust 28, 2008, 12:39 pm#17
Eskimos (Innuit) bred Mals from wolves & they don't have posessions and are nomadic, plus if you don't see many people I guess you get Hospitible,so their dogs are like 'come in for a coffee'.Plus wolves don't bark but Howl&sing, something Mals do well too. Your account is the first I've read of a good Mal Guard dog-but they'll kill anything on 4 legs.I've got a Blue Heeler now-differentstory.Pity yours went for a ride.

Buy.. a taser. Must be safe, the Police say so. There are sites on the web that sell them.
