geek_flewyAugust 27, 2008, 10:02 pm#2
What version is it Modem-Router or switch, all i could see was it was a 1 port ethernet connection. No way to run more than one pc.
geek_flewyAugust 27, 2008, 10:03 pm#3
Ok found a 4 port 510 shouldnt need drivers as they are not needed at all.

Well when I plug it all in nothing comes up. I have been connecting through ethernet on a little dlink one
geek_flewyAugust 27, 2008, 10:13 pm#5
Nothing will come up, apart from showing that your connected by the two little monitors in the bottom right, Have you connected it and then gone to its default address?
geek_sandra7163August 27, 2008, 10:16 pm#6
Yes then i have run the check for connection and it says no cable
geek_flewyAugust 27, 2008, 10:19 pm#7
What says that?
geek_sandra7163August 27, 2008, 10:30 pm#8
When I click on the diagnose connection problems, it says a cable is unplugged
geek_jmpcwizAugust 27, 2008, 10:30 pm#9
Have you ran the 'network wizard'?? Is the IP for the connection set to detect automatically? speed modem 510is that one of the telecom ones? Possibly you may need to run something from a CD. I had to set one up a few years back, and it was a hassle (The telecom router). Other routers just plug n play.
geek_sandra7163August 27, 2008, 10:32 pm#10
It must of previously come with a cd when they got it im guessing, its not showing up that anything has been connected to the computer
geek_drcspyAugust 27, 2008, 10:34 pm#11
Just what type of cable are you using ? some routers will NOT connect thru a 'crossover' cable but will be very happy if you try to connect using a 'patch' (ordinary) network cable ......if you use a crossover on a machine that doent like it you'll get the 'cable unplugged' message

geek_1clickawayAugust 27, 2008, 10:51 pm#15

You can download the CD disc here http://www.speedtouch.net.nz/NZConfigFiles.htm its a CD ISO, so just mount or burn 'image' with your favourite burning software.
