Nothing will come up, apart from showing that your connected by the two little monitors in the bottom right, Have you connected it and then gone to its default address?

Have you ran the 'network wizard'?? Is the IP for the connection set to detect automatically? speed modem 510is that one of the telecom ones? Possibly you may need to run something from a CD. I had to set one up a few years back, and it was a hassle (The telecom router). Other routers just plug n play.

It must of previously come with a cd when they got it im guessing, its not showing up that anything has been connected to the computer

Just what type of cable are you using ? some routers will NOT connect thru a 'crossover' cable but will be very happy if you try to connect using a 'patch' (ordinary) network cable ......if you use a crossover on a machine that doent like it you'll get the 'cable unplugged' message
