| Help to edit a PDF file pls I recently installed PDF Create5 and have no probs creating a PDF from a Word Doc. Now I need to make some alterations but can't find how to Edit/Modify the PDF within the Doc. Can I do this (Edit command is faded out)or do I have to modify the original Word doc and then make a new PDF file? Any help appreciated thanks, Windows XP. |

| Thx for that link but I'd like to know if there's a way to do it with the program I've got before I launch into something different. |

| I use Acrobat Pro for my pdf's converting from Word. The easiest and best approach in my experience has been to edit it in word and convert to pdf again. |

| Thanks, I was more or less resigned to that but thought there might be an easier way. |

| Not really. This way also ensures that the word and pdf doc's are consistent, avoiding mistakes and confusion in future. |

| Try The Open PDF/XPS button in a Microsoft Word Toolbar
1. Use the Open PDF/XPS button in a Microsoft Word toolbar
or the Open PDF… item in the Word File menu to call an Open
dialog box with PDF selected as file type.
In Word 2007 go to the Nuance PDF tab, or access the File menu via
the Office button.
2. Choose a single PDF file, browsing if necessary. Click Open. :D |

| Thanks 1clickaway :-) But I must be a real duh cos I can't find any of those in my word tool bar. I'm running MS Office 2000 Professional. (I think)
When I click on the PDF name I only get a create, links and (useless) help option. |

| The only free way I know of is to install OpenOffice 3 Beta 2 and get the PDF Editor extension. I have used this method successfully. |

| .pdf files are a popular medium for copy BECAUSE they are not editable. It is quite a simple matter to convert file formats to .pdf but quite a bit harder to go the other way. |

| Foxit doesn't edit but it does allow you to scribble on top of a PDF. |
