That way we don't need to use our reading glasses. | | geek_pearcey | March 19, 2008, 10:44 pm | #3 | | .... Yeah but all that gives you is the current speed, i had to take a screen shot cos it shows at the bottom what i was getting a few months ago ie 1.5 Mb /s, so please get out the binoculars so you can see what i mean | | geek__sexylady_ | March 19, 2008, 10:44 pm | #4 | | Much easier to read... http://www.speedtest.net/result/248265276.png Although i was lucky i could read the first one without squinting (just) | | geek__sexylady_ | March 19, 2008, 10:46 pm | #5 | | Hmm maybe print screen and upload to fileFactory lol i dont own reading glasses..... maybe i should invest in some... sorry pearcey | | geek_badcam | March 19, 2008, 10:47 pm | #6 | | I get ya. . | | geek__sexylady_ | March 19, 2008, 10:48 pm | #7 | | Crap thats a drop in speed ... | | geek_badcam | March 19, 2008, 10:51 pm | #8 | | Try paint... http://images.trademe.co.nz/photoserver/89/63133489_full.jpg | | geek_pearcey | March 19, 2008, 10:53 pm | #9 | | Yeah and at the time i asked if i could trial max speed for a month and see if i could get any where near full speed and they said nope, you can pick one or the other and now their new plans are way expensive, granted i only pay 29.95 with tolls for 5GB but gaming is gonna be way hard on this lol | | geek__sexylady_ | March 19, 2008, 10:55 pm | #10 | | Yeah its not going to be pretty onthe curent speed :( I hope you can get some sort of resolution out of it, although at this point in time i cant imagine what it would be. | | geek_shrapz | March 19, 2008, 10:57 pm | #11 | | Possibly because when full speed plans were first released isps could buy lower speed plans via telecom wholesale i.e 256k plans and on sell them. But telecom didnt have in place equiptment to actually limit those speeds to 256k so the isps were buying the cheaper plans and getting full speed and on selling. Now telecom are cracking down and sorting this out and people are getting 256k as they should now. cant be for sure this is what it is but its possible | | geek_babysister | March 19, 2008, 11:00 pm | #12 | | This is my Orcon speed http://www.speedtest.net/result/248269055.png | | geek_pearcey | March 19, 2008, 11:06 pm | #13 | | Fantastic babysister, you really know how to make someone feel great when they are down lol. are 2Mb plans even avaliable now or is everything stuck to max speed even if you get crap speeds. The only reason i could get broadband in the first place was cos it was only 30 bucks. | | geek__sexylady_ | March 19, 2008, 11:09 pm | #14 | | Xnet $38.95 would give you full speed up, 128 down and 5GB, no contract so if its crap no penalties to disconnect... | | geek__sexylady_ | March 19, 2008, 11:11 pm | #15 | | Basically what that consists of is $34.95 for the Fullspeed down 128 up and then you pay about $1.00 per GB BUT they only charge you what you use, so if you only used 2gb one month the bill would be 36.95 | | geek__sexylady_ | March 19, 2008, 11:12 pm | #16 | | **$33.95** not 34.95 sorry brain not working tonight | | geek_pearcey | March 19, 2008, 11:13 pm | #17 | | Thanks sexylady, i hope you mean the other way round, and looks like i will be changing very soon as just tried to stream a video and gave up very quickly | | geek_pearcey | March 19, 2008, 11:14 pm | #18 | | Lol by the time i had typed 1 post you had typed three | | geek__sexylady_ | March 19, 2008, 11:17 pm | #19 | | Well i cant see why if you went full speed plan your speeds wouldnt increase back to around the 1100-1400kbps download, it is going to be more costly as in your 5GB (if you used it ALL) $38.95 per month, but the good thing is with no 6 or 12 month contract if it doesn't work your free to continue on your quest for speed! (we changed from orcon to xnet and our speeds doubled as did a lot of our clients who also changed. make no warranty as of course every case is different | | geek_pearcey | March 19, 2008, 11:21 pm | #20 | | .... cheers thats good advice and i will make a phone call first thing in the morning to xnet as i feel that i have been ripped with no email, phone call or nothing to tell me that my speed would (sounds bad) go to waht i actually pay for. | | geek__sexylady_ | March 19, 2008, 11:23 pm | #21 | | Let us know how you get on with things as i would be interested in the final outcome. | | geek_babysister | March 19, 2008, 11:25 pm | #22 | | #13 Sorry ..... but believe me I pay lots of money to Orcon each month | | geek_pearcey | March 19, 2008, 11:25 pm | #23 | | No prob will do | | geek__sexylady_ | March 19, 2008, 11:33 pm | #24 | | Oh the other thing i forgot to mention which we find handy here as we never know what we will use per month (data wise), you can set the slider up to 5gb if you hit that they slow you speed down, you just go online to xnet and slide the data allowance up say a further gb (will cost you another $ or so but you have instant full speed again.... so you can manage it yourself | | geek_soodanim | March 20, 2008, 10:20 am | #25 | | Oh well at least you have some speed...I am on dialup again! LLU trial which has now been unbundled....Don't do it people...No compliants re the customer service, just the lack of a BB connection. Nothing since 11pm Tuesday night, apparently there's something major wrong with the Mt Albert Exchange....or it might be my equipment (changed modems still the same) or....They are working on it....just before a 4 day weekend.....aaagggghhhh | | Leave your comment: | |
