| Cursor is jumping all over the place...help please Cursor has started jumping about - hard to catch the blighter which moves just as I am about to click on an item. Please can someone give advice? I have older PC Company ball mouse, have cleaned it well but to no avail. Thanks. |

| Ball Mouse Gawd thats old. Ok: Try this: Unplug mouse from PC: Remove cover under mouse. Clean ball with dry cloth. Get a tooth pick or match stick. And clean the ROLLERS on the mouse. You should see alot of grey fluff or gunk. Shake mouse until dirt is out. Clean area where mouse rolls. And try mouse again. :D |

| If Tried All And still jumpy. Try loading some antvirus for your computer. I'm assumming its Win98: So try grabbing Spybot Search And Destroy: Avast: or F-Prot for Dos. :) |

| Thanks 1clickaway, I did as recommended and set my AVG (free) to do a full scan or whatever it does....then I went to bed. This morn it is perfect. I will replace that ancient mouse though - any suggestions for a 'semi-novice'. |

| You can buy a decent Logitech mouse at Dick Head for $21 at the moment. You might need a $5 PS/2 to USB adaptor if you can't use a USB port on your computer. |

| Running A/V For 'those' that may have forgotten or just ignorant. Some sites they people goto. Have little cute mouse icons. These 'effect' the computer system. Only slightly. Since user is on Win98: Its likely that these cursor may have 'tempered' with the 'jumping' around. :) |
