Network + Hey guys. I'm doing a Diploma in Systems Administration at AMES I.T Accademy. I am doing A+/Network+,MCSA and CCNA. I have Passed A+ and just need 1 more exam to get my MCSA certificate (need to pass ISA server 2004 exam. I'm currently studying for CCNA right now. I failed my first attempt at Network+ and I was wondering if I should do the resit now (I have to fork out another $530 for the resit :( ) or after I finish my course as I'm not currently looking for a job so it might be a waste of money right now if I do the resit nowWhat should I do?

I failed my Network+ and never bothered to resit, it, but if i did attempt again, i would go over and over all the practice exams i could and memorise the answers and read the textbooks heaps until you understand it, there is alot of complicated things about protocols etc, make sure you fully understand the OSI layer model and what protocols are routing protocols etc, things change fast too, and i failed mainly due to the questions being so far from what i was studying, i was not firmilar with most of the things the exam was dealing with, but i know i would of passed with what i know now! lol

So what qualifications have you got now? Yeah I failed cause I didn't do any practise exams and only studied the day prior to the exam. It was the first exam I sat and I guess I should've sat A+ first...

I'd resit now they're updating the Network+ exam soon

I wouldn't bother I would concentrate on the Cisco cert instead.

If I pass A+, Network+, MCSA and CCNA, would this be enough to get into a entry level job like call center?
geek_nzoomedOctober 11, 2008, 1:42 pm#10
That would be tons id expect depends what department on the call centre
geek_lana_formanOctober 11, 2008, 2:49 pm#11
That would be more than enough for a call centre, don't they normally just work from scripts anyway? CCNA is a different kettle of fish to Network+, don't expect that one to be easy if you don't have any experience with Cisco kit.
