Firefox & Internet Explorer - Why site different??| geek_jmpcwiz | March 25, 2008, 7:30 pm | #1 | | Firefox & Internet Explorer - Why site different?? So im doing a simple HTML website. All information is fictional except my name. Its all been coded using simple html, but there is a difference when viewing the site thru IE or FF. http://tinyurl.com/392ws5 Have a look your self. (The 'Home' Link will not work) Why is this, since its just simple code?? |

| | geek_jmpcwiz | March 25, 2008, 7:32 pm | #2 | | Especially this page http://tinyurl.com/2qd5zf is broken totally when using FF. Argh! | | geek_evoeater | March 25, 2008, 7:37 pm | #3 | | Firefox is stricter when it comes to coding For example the paragraph describing how passionate you are blah blah. I'm not seeing a closed font tag. I didn't check much (i'm not a web dev) but I'd say check your tags and go from there | | geek_kickpac5 | March 25, 2008, 7:38 pm | #4 | | The home link links to index.htm whereas the real homepage is index2.htm. The slight differences will be caused by the different page rendering engines in FF and IE. Just accept that they will look different, because, well, they will. | | geek_puddleduck00 | March 25, 2008, 7:39 pm | #5 | | What part of Muppet town you in Jared? I'm from Muppet town too. | | geek_evoeater | March 25, 2008, 7:41 pm | #6 | | Also I noticed you're using a border more obvious in Firefox than in Explorer, if you don't want it then get rid of it (table border="3" if you don't know what I'm talking about) | | geek_jmpcwiz | March 25, 2008, 8:10 pm | #7 | | #4 yeah the link to index.html is on purpose I will fix that up later... Its too stop all the other uni students from seeing my work until its done... #6, yeah was thinking of dropping the border, i guess thats that solution. | | geek_jmpcwiz | March 25, 2008, 8:13 pm | #8 | | How does the 'reference' page look in FF For me, it looks horrible, like the layout is messed up but my friend says its looks fine. | | geek_flewy | March 25, 2008, 8:18 pm | #9 | | Looks fine here | | geek_jmpcwiz | March 25, 2008, 8:23 pm | #10 | | Cool thanks :D Just wanted to double check... my FF must be corrupted somehow. Cheers for the help guys. Must suck making website and making sure they are the same for FF and IE. Oh well, not my profession. | | Leave your comment: | |
