Deleting Nortons and installing| geek_etta1 | March 25, 2008, 9:08 pm | #1 | | Deleting Nortons and installing another anti-virus protection. Do you delete Nortons first and then install the new anti-virus programme or do you install the new anti-virus programme and then delete Nortons. I feel, once you have got Nortons off the computer and then you start installing the new anti-virus programme you could be open to an attack of virus's etc. Comments very much appreciated. Thanks. |

Just want to be sure. Thanks for your comment. | | geek_flewy | March 25, 2008, 9:15 pm | #4 | | Well if ya that worried download the new, disconnect, uninstall Nortons, run the removal tool, reboot then install the new. | | geek_jadzia | March 25, 2008, 9:15 pm | #5 | | Would recommend Uninstalling Norton first, then the new AV. Just be aware - you may be already, that Norton is a pig to remove. It spreads itself out like tentacles... | | geek_deodar | March 25, 2008, 9:43 pm | #6 | | If you need this exolained Then your chances of uninstalling

I would bet on. | | geek_etta1 | March 25, 2008, 9:54 pm | #7 | | Thanks all I will be able to do this and hope all of Nortons gets removed off the system using the removal tool. | | geek_etta1 | March 26, 2008, 9:34 am | #8 | | Thanks very much the three of you for all your help. I am a "mere female" who has a bit of knowledge about computers but when it comes to the guts of them, then I start to get stumped. Saw this site when I was poking around for a removal tool - what do you think or would these instructions be a bit dodgy.

All the questions and answers seem genuine but one cannot be sure on the net. | | geek_icioufa | March 26, 2008, 10:01 am | #9 | | Yes use the askdavetaylor instruction for removal http://windowssecrets.com/comp/080207/#story1 | | geek_deodar | March 26, 2008, 12:43 pm | #10 | | Seems ok. After removing Nortons there are some Keys in REG .You can do a real mopping up with CCleaner.AFTER you've
used the tool and uninstalled. | | geek_etta1 | March 26, 2008, 4:26 pm | #11 | | 9 & 10 Thanks very much for info. | | Leave your comment: | |
