Got2bin2winyou know what black blobo on the philips monitor i fixed? all the coloured pixels around it have gone and the blob is very small, only extents about 3mm from the side of the screen now. will it every go away or will it be there for the life of the monitor? its not an annoyance at all but it would be nice to see it gone. thanks

It probably won't diminish any more than it has already, but it may dry out, if you want to fix it 99% then buy a faulty monitor off here with a dud back light and swap the screen out of it, what bran panel did it

I just checked it again and it appears to have gone. thats good! the pink vertical line wont disappear though i guess. im not complaining. looking on trademe here they are selling upwards of $100 for good condition ones and i got this free, only cost me $5 in capacitors.

SweetDid the screen have one connector or 2 ribbon cables connecting to the vga pcb.

There was one ribbon cable about one inch across going from the vga board to another circuit board which had lots of ribbon cables going into the lcd panel itself
