Help wanted please. I have no sound on my computer. I need to know what to download to install a driver as the error messages say no audio/sound devices are on the system. They were on here before it left the UK to get here! How could this happen. Tried external speakers and troubleshooting as advised, but nothing.

We can't help if we have no details, like make model etc,...

Are you using a laptop? What is the make model & series number under the computer? Then we will be able to help you. I am sure that it's a matter of just downloading the drivers (again).

Or use System Restore if you have installed no programs since the sound stopped, you could use System Restore to get it back.

Damn easy to back up emails anyway...and in xp system restore TELLS you 'this does not cause you to lose recent work such as saved documents/emails etc and is completely reverseable'.....so i cant see a problem with that.....

What, you guys reckon the drivers got shaken out on the boat trip? I reckon it will be the sound card needs putting back into place after getting a bump somewhere.

More than likely a M$ update I have seen numerous times where the latest MS updates have played up with audio hardware, whether it be Sis, ViA, or Intel etc chipset, & yes a down load from the manufactures web site will cure it most likely, if you can find out whom that is.
