geek_swivelNovember 20, 2008, 10:54 pm#2
Well change the update time to something other than the default, as then your trying to update with everyone else. Or try Clamwin
geek_pheonixNovember 21, 2008, 7:27 am#3
Try Avast , or AntiVir .. both free also. Clamwin is a scanner only and doesn't stay active. Avast ( http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html )
geek_gary06November 21, 2008, 11:30 am#4
Malwarebytes is the best and it's free.
geek_swivelNovember 21, 2008, 11:50 am#5
Gary06 LOL. 1/ you don't read and 2/ thats not a Virus program
geek_vinniehallNovember 21, 2008, 12:57 pm#6
Avg is the best Don't change from AVG, and DON'T buy a "package" like mcafee or norton, it'll kill your computer unless you are running XP with more than 2GB of RAM. If you want a good antivirus that ISN'T free, upgrade to AVG Anti-Malware. If you don't want to pay, stick with AVG. Just change the update time like 2. said.
geek_gary06November 21, 2008, 1:06 pm#7
No 5 Hilarius www.malewarebytes. Is a free malicious and maleware scanner.Who can't read.
geek_intradeNovember 21, 2008, 1:08 pm#8
Avgsux is crap get antivir if you got a older pc and avast if you got a newer model like a core2 duo etc....
geek_gary06November 21, 2008, 1:18 pm#9
Every one has there own preferance and opinion.I used AVG for years and upgraded frequently untill I got a virus last week that stopped me opening regedit.AVG couldn't find this.I switched to malwarebytes free down load and it removed it and found 11 others. All I'm saying is it works for me, it's free and you down load updates when you want.I'd never go back to AVG.
geek_swivelNovember 21, 2008, 1:21 pm#10
Gary06 LOL. It's not a Virus program, Malwarebytes is for Malware. So if it found something it wasn't Virus related. Sh!T if you don't know that, you shouldn't be on a computer
geek_intradeNovember 21, 2008, 1:23 pm#11
Re*9 we have now so mutch threads about avgsux problems and people with virus with avgsux. and swivel has the pay version. It is probably the same as zonalarm the pay version is better then the free crap.. so why would you use crap when there is better free ones like avast and antivir. Each time i removed avg form a clients machine and replaced it with antivir it found up to 42 trojan viruses.. Do only ever install 1 antivirus never 2 at the same time use crapcleaner to clean regestrys. www.ccleaner.com
geek_swivelNovember 21, 2008, 1:25 pm#12
Intrade yes you could be right that I don't have the problem as mines rego'd. But then my rego'd version has found virus's your program didn't. But you miss one thing. G thinks Malwarebytes is a virus program as well.
geek_gary06November 21, 2008, 1:30 pm#13
For swivel from Wikipedia Malware, a portmanteau word from the words malicious and software, is software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system without the owner's informed consent. The expression is a general term used by computer professionals to mean a variety of forms of hostile, intrusive, or annoying software or program code.[1] Many computer users are unfamiliar with the term, and often use "computer virus" for all types of malware, including true viruses. Software is considered malware based on the perceived intent of the creator rather than any particular features. Malware includes computer viruses, worms, trojan horses, most rootkits, spyware, dishonest adware, crimeware and other malicious and unwanted software. In law, malware is sometimes known as a computer contaminant, for instance in the legal codes of several

geek_elaine14November 21, 2008, 1:55 pm#19
Retard You are a total retard gary06. if you don't see the difference between a VIRUS scanner and a MALWARE scanner you shouldn't be using a pc...
geek_puddleduck00November 21, 2008, 1:57 pm#20
Malwarebytes is the name of the company...malwarebytes anit-malware is the name of the software you are referring to. The full version includes realtime protection, however the free version does not. It isn't technically an antivirus..
geek_gary06November 21, 2008, 1:58 pm#21

geek_elaine14November 21, 2008, 2:07 pm#24
In # 18 If you care 2 read your own quotes in 18 you state it is an ANTI virus scanner as well as MALWARE scanner. MALWARE BYTES is a good program but it is not a VIRUS scanner program.
geek_kevin16November 21, 2008, 2:11 pm#25

geek_hkl1November 21, 2008, 2:19 pm#31
Excuse me dictionary? (kevin06) WTF is a bigot???
geek_gary06November 21, 2008, 2:20 pm#32
I've only been refering to malewarebytes as the registerd program of softpedia, not as Maleware itself.Of coarse I know maleware isn't a virus. Oh what's the point whatever.
geek_d0zzieNovember 21, 2008, 2:21 pm#33
I just downloaded Malwares Anti-Malware, got rid of algg.exe which was hiding in the web media file.

geek_0800xfordNovember 21, 2008, 2:23 pm#35
