| | geek_rz_zone | March 6, 2008, 2:27 am | #2 | | .......... whats your one? we usually get an ok speed most days. different story when it rains. lol. | | geek_0800xford | March 6, 2008, 10:27 am | #3 | Very slow but at least it's not dialup aye ;) http://www.speedtest.net/ says 43KBps so it may as well be. i like to download linux distros from nz servers to REALLY test it. ftp://debian.co.nz/Xandros/xandros-201-ocd-installation.iso says almost 70KBps... | | geek_patlarkins | March 6, 2008, 3:16 pm | #4 | | We've got a woosh wireless connection... Just outside the CBD (Newton Road) which gets reasonable speeds - according to speedtest.net 1573KB/s down, 243 up. But apparently where we are its a stones throw from the Woosh aerial/dish so that probably helps | | geek_37_south | March 6, 2008, 4:28 pm | #5 | | Not much more than dial-up in Glendene. Will be changing ISP soon. | | geek_black_jack | March 6, 2008, 11:24 pm | #6 | | Re #3 Hey 0800xford, you ran the test from speedtest.net right? so i suppose your result is in kbps (little b)as well? mine result is 150 kbps down / 108 kbps up for the 1st test and 155 kbps down / 78 kbps up for the 2nd test to the akl server. | | geek_black_jack | March 6, 2008, 11:30 pm | #7 | | Re #4 hey patlarkins, i am on near symmond street, which have a direct line of sight to skytower (they asked me this when i signed up so i suppose they got a dish there). My result is quite shocking ay. The only reason i stay with them is that i don't really need a landline in the house so they work out to be the cheapest. not much other choice really. may be i should really give their helpdesk a call and see whether my profile on their side is screw or sth. | | geek_0800xford | March 8, 2008, 2:05 pm | #8 | Speed i don't know why they give readouts in kbps, i just converted the kbps to KBps.
i just got some mouse drivers from microsoft @ 130 KBps wicked!
this is nice software! been using it for years. http://joshmadison.com/software/convert/ | | geek_0800xford | March 8, 2008, 2:15 pm | #9 | | Users you woosh users should know where the hubs are at ;) http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c70/0800oxford/wooshhub.jpg | | Leave your comment: | |
