Read how to fix dxgmms1.sys bsod in the blog.

Windows 7 64 bit BSOD hi peeps, has any one had BSOD with windows 7 caused by "dxgmms1.sys". a quick google brings up 3 hits......http://www.google.co.nz/search?hl=en&q=dxgmms1.sys&btnG=Google+Search&meta=.

Its only seems to do this when playing games (can be any length of time from 1 to 10 minutes, most of the time its within a couple of minutes), any ideas on how to fix this TIA :)

Can we presume that you had these games running on this hardware before you put this OS on?

Above post yes perfectly, using win vista 64 bit, and win xp (machine has duel boot), the games run find on win xp (32 bit) whist using duel boot windows 7. I know that its a "beta", but in a strange kinda way it seems better than vista, every thing else is SWEET as. :)

Same sh*t over here. System runs perfectly for hours, low temps, good performance and after I start a game (COD:MW2 oder any dx-based) it crashes within 2 minutes ingame.
all device, latest official drivers installed.
[CPU Q6600; GPU 8800GTX; 4GB Kingston DDR2-800 - none of this overclocked]

i use Win7 Ultimate x64 (and yes, i regret it :/). Same hardware with Vista Ultimate x64, no problems.

First bluescreen dxgmms1.sys since 7 RTM x64. Happened during normal usage, although Google Chrome was crashing because of Foxit Reader.

I hade no dxgmms1.sys crashes while playing games until now. (besides the occasional total gfx freeze while playing good ol' StarCraft, not sure if it might be related).

i read solutions for this:
-disable C1E in bios
- disable any boost in bios (standart only)
- use driver sweeper in safe mode to uninstall display driver and after reboot install newest video drivers and update directx

say if its works for u

I have been having this problem on/off for a LONG time now and I'm finally just building a whole new rig in hopes of remedying the situation. Running on Asus A8N-SLI Premium with socket 939 AMD 4200 64bit Dual core processor and 4 gigs (4x1gig) Adata DDR400 ram.
If you want better detail, I can give it.
I have tested everything.
The ram tests have run for DAYS on memtest with no errors.
I've run superpi for DAYS with no errors.
My hard drives pass every test I throw at them.
I ran a video card stress test and got it to crash several times. THEN I RMA'd my video card, got back a brand new one, and the problem STILL persists. And finally it's down to either my motherboard is bad, or I got back another bad video card from the RMA process. I'm soooooo sick and tired of having to deal with this, as I have been dealing with this for over a year that I'm finally dropping 400 bucks to do a small rebuild/upgrade. But i'm pissed about that because my hardware performs just fine speed wise. And I did not want to rebuild for about another year.
I have already ordered replacements but I am DYING to find out the true cause of this trouble because I'm NOT kidding, I have been dealing with this for OVER A YEAR.
I can remember that the problems all started when I upgraded my ram and my video card at the same time, and since then, no matter what configuration I have, these problems persist. Even when I put the old card back in.
It seems like when I reinstall the OS the problem goes away for about a day, then proceed to get worse and worse the more I try to play my games in vain. That would make me think the memory is bad, but then why would I be able to run memtest for DAYS without a problem.
If you discover anything, email me at christoph2005@dslextreme.com

I have the same problem with win7 64bit BSOD. (dxgmms1.sys) the system runs fine everywhere else..Desktop,Internet and even applications in programs like PS CS4.
Its when I go into any game on-line or Off it dont matter.

Win XP Pro is stable as anything with my current system but as soon as Win7 64bit goes in BSOD.

I have spent days on this and have for now gone back to Win XP till this issue is fixed by MICROSOFT it has to be Win7 64bit the cause.

I have had my system in bits testing all the Hardware and NOTHING is Faulty...I even tested the 4 sticks of ram in each slot 1 at a time so that was 16 start-ups lol.
Power suply tested ok, board ok all tested under load test as well as the GPU and CPU and Ram.

Any ideas how to fix I would be greatful...

My System is:
PSU: Thermaltake Purepower 520W
Mobo: Asus P5Q Pro
CPU: Intel Q6600 Quad core 2@2.40
CPU Fan: Zalman
GPU: Asus GTX260
Sound: SB Audigy4
RAM: Corsair XMS2-6400 x4 gig
HDD: Samsung 1Tb 7200RPM 32Mb Cache.

Add me to the list.. Have tried/tested EVERYTHING in this new rig, all is good.. I'm also running ATI 4870, Win 7 (x64)... Have disabled EVERYTHING from IE/firefox and Windows 7 startup (including services.) Clean install fixes problem for about 3-5 days, then it slowly starts happening again and again and again... Gets worse as the days go by..

Getting BSOD for both dxgmms1.sys and nvlddmkm.sys right after reinstalling the system; no software added, just basic W7 home premium... While doing a normal file copy operation, I can ju sit back and watch, after a few moments or sometimes minutes (large file copies), the BSOD comes again... Only restored the system from the internal restore partition, no new driver updates, laptop was bought new in December, not sure about how new those included drivers are, will try with updating the drivers..

(Asus G60-series laptop, 4GB ram)

Here is the solution ATLAST... after repeatable attempts of trying every single Nvidia driver and dx9, dx10 and dx11... what was causeing the BSOD for dxgmms1.sys was the MOBO BIOS, i flashed the BIOS to latest driver and BOOM.. NOT a SINGLE BSOD ever since.

NOTE: removing any Overclocks on the FSB and QPI will resolve the issue aswell.

Specs: intel core i7 920 Mobo GIGABYTE 58x Extreme
2x SLI 280 xFx - 6GB Kingston 1066 - 1 Tera Seagate HDD

I had the same problems as you guys. My MW2 would keep crashing, but I manually installed the drivers for my video card. Though, I kept getting BSoDs, I only once got the BSoD with dsgmms1.sys critical error. The rest were win32k.sys and other random shit.

In your event viewing log, you'll see the 0x00blah50 which is reporting a memory issue. It's not. I thought it was at first. Memtest86 to the MSMemtests... it's fine. Just follow the link below and try that.

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us Pick what you have and install it. You should be fine or at least I was. It's been nearly a week since my last BSoD ;) Hope it works for the majority of you as well.

And if that doesn't work for you... you're really SoL until they do come out with a new update for the driver (nvidia). My suggestion is not to play the games that are causing your systems to crash over and over. Find something else, I know I can play Crysis and CoH without it crashing, but MW2 just seems to be one big pile of crap. IW is so fail.

BFBC2... woohoo!!

Been having this bsod for a couple of days now, tried running it on Win 7Ultimate x86 and x64, problem seem to only happen during playing games or running directx test.

Have been reading on the net about this issue and some guys said its because when the card tries to be "green" and lower is power to 0.9v it crash and bsod, it seems to happen alot with ATI radeon cards, which is what I'm running now (sapphire hd5770).

Not sure if its physically the card thats damage, cause I earlier send it to check for faulty, got it back from the dealer, and they said that ram, mobo and gpu were physically fine. So I believe the problem is with compatibility with win7 on certain ATI cards.

Solved my problem

I'm the nr.45 post.

I testet my memory, and found that one of the memory chip is faulty, after taking it out; Everything worked normal. No more bsod, I can play games without interruption. The reason I didn't check the memory first was that I just got it back from the dealer(send a couple of hardware to them regarding another problem) and they told me that the memory was fine.

Add me to the list. I get 1 to 2 dxgmms1.sys BSOD's a day, and it's only ever happened while I'm browsing. The most recent one happened when I was watching a YouTube video.

OS - Win 7 x64 Home Premium
Browser - Firefox 2.0.0.11
Video card - Asus 9800GT
CPU - AMD Phenom X3 8600
Mobo - Gigabyte GA-MA78LM-S2H

Motherboard BIOS is the most recent revision. Temperatures are ok.
