freeview on an acer

Freeview on an acer just got a new acer laptop with a freeview dvb-t(?) aerial and trying to get tv on it. In chch, so one would think there would be terrestrial signal here, but how do I set up the actual computer to get it. Is there any freeware programs I can use to tune it

.You should also have an installation cd with the software for it.

There is no guarantee that a small antenna can receive DVB-T signal effectively though. I live in Belfast (16 km from Sugarloaf) and external UHF is necessary. See http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?ForumId=83&TopicId=19328 for appropriate software. Windows 7 Media Centre will support the H.264 video and AAC+ audio.
