But the reason I use it is because it caches the IP address. If I go back to a site that I've been to recently, it tries the last IP address - quicker than a distant DNS server. The user will see it running (in the tray) and can turn off logging. Or is there a program to hide specified processes? | | geek_phillbit | March 11, 2008, 9:12 pm | #3 | | Thanks does that send it all to one PC i have 7 PC on the net and i want to view it on the computer that i will put next to me | | geek_helpless | March 11, 2008, 9:37 pm | #4 | | I don't know but I'd assume You would need to make a pc into a Server/Router and have everything going through that to be able to do that..Lots of numbers and info everywhere so you had better enjoy reading.Huge subject and not one I know enough about. | | geek_r.g.nixon | March 11, 2008, 9:58 pm | #5 | | A script You could try a 'kludge'. On boot up, each PC would copy it's previous log file to your computer. So you would see the lists from the previous 24 hours (assuming one boot up per day). | | geek_r.g.nixon | March 11, 2008, 10:37 pm | #6 | | On the other hand You could get an old 486 or slow Pentium, install IPCOP (a small Linux system) and use it as a proxy server and cacheing server. This gives your network more protection from external hacking, and reduces bandwidth demand - assuming several users look at the same page(s). Not sure about the logging options. Google is your friend. | | Leave your comment: | |
