| | geek_intrade | April 7, 2008, 8:59 am | #2 | | Ok what operation system do you have? I assume you got winblows, if so get crapcleaner from www.filehippo.com and remove all old files to start with. | | geek_72gto | April 7, 2008, 9:01 am | #3 | | Windows XP ok I will try that thanks | | geek_sighkick | April 7, 2008, 9:02 am | #4 | | Thanks for giving us ALL the information up front! Have you tried more than one CD? Are you even using a CD player or is this simply an MP3 on your hard drive? If you are using a CD in a computer CD player, either the CD is faulty [scratched] or most likely a faulty CD Player. | | geek_72gto | April 7, 2008, 9:03 am | #5 | | I am using windows media player the songs are on my computer there is no CD involved | | geek_72gto | April 7, 2008, 9:07 am | #6 | | Oh and its also the same when I try to watch a video on youtube the sound just skips, its not my computer speakers as I have just tried running it thru my stereo and it is doing the same thing | | geek_sighkick | April 7, 2008, 9:08 am | #7 | | Use Crap Cleaner as mentioned above to remove everything from the startup other than security such as Virus Checker, Trojan detectors and Firewalls [if any]. It sounds like your CPU is busy and interfering with processing the audio. | | geek_72gto | April 7, 2008, 9:14 am | #8 | | Just remembered I defraged my computer a couple of nights ago. Could this be the problem or not? | | geek_72gto | April 7, 2008, 9:53 am | #9 | | OKAY Just run Crap Cleaner and it didnt fix the problem. What to do now? | | geek_connie56 | April 7, 2008, 10:32 am | #10 | | Bumping for answers as I have this problem with my laptop | | geek_puddleduck00 | April 7, 2008, 12:08 pm | #11 | | It sounds like what you call a buffering problem. As mentioned your computer might have a pile of applications starting up that are using all your system resources. Failing that it could be a problem with your soundcard drivers, so updating/reinstalling the drivers might help. Or, it could be that your soundcard has some kind of DSP running that your PC can't handle. | | geek_puddleduck00 | April 7, 2008, 12:09 pm | #12 | | In Ccleaner under start up, how many items are in that list? Listing them would actually be quite helpful. | | geek_72gto | April 7, 2008, 12:22 pm | #13 | | #12 Internet explorer, windows explorer and system. each of those has a drop down menu | | geek_pcfix4u | April 7, 2008, 12:27 pm | #14 | | Whats your PC specs operating system????
