That story was so over reported, anyway the thing is the BBC doesn't even mention the best part and that is that the media is cross platform (it can be played by both a DVD player and blu-ray). Other than that similar technology has been around for years in TB form

Still a good article To remind the mass's that theres bigger dvd's being developed . .. Can't agree with part of this . .. .. .. . "The relatively modest adoption of Blu-ray discs sales globally might be an issue with some companies who believe digital distribution and cloud computing is the long-term answer to content delivery and storage." .. . .. . cloud computing is truly firked if the Isp & or www goes down for what ever reason.

Google HVD and you will see a disk that is over 1TB in size, thats been invented years ago! lol

Yep but they all suffer from the same 2 problems Reliability & cost.

geek_mrfxit, Apr 29, 9:02 am

Re 5 Not true, I mean as I said they have been around for ages the media itself wasnt really expensive it was the hardware that enabled you to write to those 'holo' disks that cost a fortune

geek_wholesaler, Apr 29, 9:17 am

D'uh Same thing. Disks aren't any use with out the drives (except as expensive frisbe's)
