dead compaq m2000

#1 | | Dead compaq m2000 One of the guys here has a m2000 laptop which died the other day. Suspected water damage as there was condensation on the lid the next day. Theres no sign of being wet inside of it or stickyness from beer. Any way to get it going again? I have recovered the data off it so if it doesnt go again then its not the end of the world. | |

#4 | | This one goes great even running win7, not the best I'll agree tho...try taking battery out and putting it in the hot-water cupboard for a week...I've saved many a gadget that way... |

#5 | | Its not mine. by the time the guy realised that it was broke it was the next morning so if it did get wet then it was wet overnight with AC plugged in and battery in. Yes they are a POS laptop, gotta hate those industrial strength latches holding the 1 cm thick screen down. At a guess its 4 years old. Being a HP computer it could have just died randomly but with lots of drunk people around it's more likely that it had something spilt on it. |

#6 | | Ok but still tell him to try the hot-water cupboard anyway...my boy had an electronic toy that was submerged in a bucket of water overnight, after a week in the hot water cupboard, presto, working again...i know a lappy is hardly the same thing but you never know yr luck. | |
