#3 | | Accounts or messages? Is this related to your other thread? Google would be able to trace both, I imagine, but recipients of email sent through gmails web interface wouldn't. |

#6 | | There used to be a way to get the sender ip with gmail, my mate surprised me by telling me my ip addy and that was how he did it but i cannot remember how to do it now, it was a few years ago now |

#9 | | Gmail hides it, not sure about hotmail Yes they can be traced by law enforcement, with international co-operation and the appropriate warrants. They cannot be traced by YOU unless you can trick the account holder into viewing a remote image or following a link that gives away their IP address. |
