#1 | | Setting up windows xp from dos Hi I just got a new cd drive but unfortunately for some reason my windows xp cd won't boot. When I type d: into dos then dir it shows all the files for windows xp on the cd drive. What do I type now so that i can start setup from the cd drive in dos

#7 | Try this - From D:\ type CD i386 then type winnt32.exe
Setup should launch, if not, setup may complain about installing a memory manager (emm386.exe) to speed things up. good luck. |

#12 | | It is wierd because dos recognizes files on the cd but the bios doesn't even seem to recognise that there is a cd drive. I'll get a hold of windows 98
