SKY decoder

SKY decoder i have an older decoder that came from somewhere, i put the card in it from my sky decoder but get rain fade with 0% signal, anyone know why this unit might not be working and how i can get it to work?

Maybe Sky have de-activated it?

Yeh i thought about that, but i know of other people who have dodgy second decoders in their campers, what this one was going to be used for) so they only need to replace the card?

I thing they do that now as when i side up the gave the s/n number and that to sky i tried my card in mum decoder it did that will i ran and got hers sn number on to mine. they asked up blah blah blah i said coz mum dont have movies and there a movie we want to want to i want to use my card as i have the movies

Since that box was last used, Sky TV changed the polarisation of their signal from Vertical to Horizontal. I believe they beamed down a software command to reprogram the box, but your box would have missed that update. I suggest you need to go into the options using the remote, and manually change the polarisation from vertical to Horizontal.

Also check the LNB frequency setting Older LNBs (the pointy thingy on the dish) have a frequency 11300. Newer ones are 10750.
