| | geek_swivel | March 12, 2008, 2:59 pm | #2 | | To each there own I'm with Xtra and have no problems. But then what it the best car ?? | | geek_smithjj | March 12, 2008, 2:59 pm | #3 | | Haha it depends we are with xtra we used to be with woosh and they were really good we would've stayed with them if they sent us an invoice in the mail but they wouldn't soo we had to change to telecom as work pays for our internet! If your going to download movies its good to get a good "capped" rate! | | geek_demonknight | March 12, 2008, 3:02 pm | #4 | | Some Happy Orcon customers on this board. Myself included. | | geek_sumzy | March 12, 2008, 3:03 pm | #5 | | Woosh does looks like it has decent rates actually.how do i find out if it available in my area? | | geek_smithjj | March 12, 2008, 3:04 pm | #6 | | Go to www.woosh.co.nz and then on the left there should be an area where you put your suburb and things like that! :D | | geek_sumzy | March 12, 2008, 3:08 pm | #7 | | Sweet thankyou :) orcon seems good too haha dammit. hard to decide. when it says 59.95 with 1 homeline does that include phone costs (if just called locals)? | | geek_sumzy | March 12, 2008, 3:10 pm | #8 | | Woosh is counted out for me :( ... | | geek_smithjj | March 12, 2008, 3:14 pm | #9 | | Oh sadd... yeah that was the only thing with woosh they only have certain people who can use them lol | | geek_demonknight | March 12, 2008, 3:14 pm | #10 | | No... The cost of line rental isn't included in that total. So add $41 for basic homeline. What I like about Orcon is that I can change my plan online painlessly each month if I want to use more or less data. If I go over data allowance they charge $10 for each 5GB block in excess. | | geek_smithjj | March 12, 2008, 3:14 pm | #11 | | #7... with costs it will mean that you have your phone calls with them | | geek_sumzy | March 12, 2008, 3:18 pm | #12 | Alright. demonknight?!?http://www.orcon.net.nz/broadband/ say if i was interested in the 15bg one? so i would have to pay $41 on top of that for the month? (even if calls were only local ones) oh smithjj - i think u are emailing my bf at the mo regarding photomax?? :D | | geek_smithjj | March 12, 2008, 3:22 pm | #13 | | Sooo you would be paying... $59.95 a month for their 15gb plan which I think if you sign up with their phone plan to get that rate you need to have phone calls with them! :) Find out what the rate is if you don't have calls with them! :) | | geek_smithjj | March 12, 2008, 3:22 pm | #14 | | Havoc is your b/f ? I think thats his name hehe :D Yeah I'm looking into it actually hehe | | geek_demonknight | March 12, 2008, 3:22 pm | #15 | | #12 Yes, $41 on top of that. Unless you wanted a more expensive homeline service :D It sucks I know, I hardly use my landline to it's potential either. | | geek_smithjj | March 12, 2008, 3:24 pm | #16 | | Soo your not with anyone at the moment? | | geek_sumzy | March 12, 2008, 3:28 pm | #17 | | #16 nope being cheeky and using the neighbours wireless ;) haha feel stink so want to get our own sorted early next week. though im not using it at the mo. chilling on the uni computers myself :D (hes enjoying his photomax - working good for him) thanks demonknight - yeah i dont use home ph at all. I like that its 2 months free. basically the same deal as telecom but a little more gb and upload speed. I always hear problmes with telecom though?!? | | geek_smithjj | March 12, 2008, 3:30 pm | #18 | Hahaha yeah that is cheeky your neighbour should have secured wireless LOL.... there are some people that just don't secure theres hahaha!
We are with Telecom and find them to be good... in saying that work pays for our internet and we are on the Pro Advanced plan we were on the Pro plan but got it upped because 2 months in a row we went over our cap and had to pay more... and then last month we went 25gb over SOOOO LOl I told J to up it again but we'll see hahahaha! :) | | geek_demonknight | March 12, 2008, 3:30 pm | #19 | | Uni internet Is great, so fast :) | | geek_smithjj | March 12, 2008, 3:31 pm | #20 | | Lol yes Uni internet is great hahah | | geek_sumzy | March 12, 2008, 3:33 pm | #21 | | Haha u at uni net too demonknight?? haha yeah i just blame it on the neighbours :D if they didnt want us to use it it be locked :D :D i should go and ask them abut there plan? seems quite quick ;) lol. i jsut hear ppl whinge about telecom a bit thats all. orcon has a few more gb for less money and either quicker d.l and or upload speed. :) | | geek_sumzy | March 12, 2008, 3:34 pm | #22 | | So its between orcon, slingshot and telecom!?! ah the choices. | | geek_windsinger | March 12, 2008, 3:34 pm | #23 | | Woosh is without doubt the worst ISP and possibly worst customer service I have personally dealt with. But that's just my opinion. | | geek_smithjj | March 12, 2008, 3:35 pm | #24 | Hahaha yeah go over and ask them what they are using lol!!! And when you go over tell them to secure their wireless LOL....
We get a good up and down speed rate with xtra...

Avoid Woosh like the plague. Orcon is ok but has a contract. If I were you I'd go with voip phone and xnet's full speed/full speed broadband. If you want fs/fs it ends up saving you a fair bit because there is no separate phone line fee. If on the other hand you're wanting a cheaper broadband account, you're going to need a phone line. | | geek_studentkyle | March 13, 2008, 7:15 am | #34 | | Anyone with snap? | | Leave your comment: | |
