Dear Kiwibank Customer,
With internet banking you can manage your Kiwibank accounts online - it's easier, faster and very secure (it's even protected by our internet banking guarantee). If you're a Kiwibank customer At Kiwibank, we do everything we can to protect your money and personal information. We're continually assessing new security threats and finding new ways to help keep your money safe, And that's why Kiwibank internet banking has been judged best in New Zealand by independent Global Review. As we are doing our end of the year internet bank security round up, We noticed that your internet banking access and keepsafe security question and answer has been compromised by virus and spyware. we imply you to click on the link below to update your account
Clic k here to update your account
Thank you for banking with kiwibank.

Possibly a real issue though is how did the sender get your email address? ? Have people other than Kiwibank customers received these emails, or just Kiwibank customers? ? If non KB customers it would imply a grand "shotgun" approach, but if ONLY KB customers, then perhaps KB security has been compromised. . . . how else are they getting KB customer email addresses?

Easy, they just spam any new zealand email address they can find. Chances are they will hit one at some stage. Its not rocket science

im not even a KB customer, but i seem to get them targeting alot of NZ banks, and the occasional overseas bank, but i never used to get them once upon a time, i dont know how they got my email address, i dont use mine over the internet for forms i fill in etc, i always use my hotmail address, which gets spam from day1 lol. Id say they get our email addresses through infected machines with spyware that read the addresses in the address book and send them back to them for spamming. |

I very seldom get spam except from offers of updates etc from programs I have. I am quite happy with that situation and politely decline those offers which some have generously made. Ta.

I get a crapload for US banks to my .com domain name, and the same host sends a NZ targetted one to the .co.nz version of the domain seconds later.
