| WAN (wide area network) interface of Belkin needs to be configured with the same IP address, gateway etc. that you have been using on laptop to connect directly via cable modem. |

| Waste of time calling Belkin as they only deal with the connection between router and PC, they won't discuss the WAN/internet interface at all. |

OK, had a read through the manual for your Belkin router [http://is. gd/7Rodi] & it has specific instructions on how to set it up with your existing modem.
Read & follow Section 4, page 15 of the manual then report your results. It is quite a comprehensive & well written guide. You should have no problems if you follow it to the T. |
