Just a Bump for Windows 7 RC users

#1 | On February 15th, people still running the Windows 7 Release Candidate (RC) will receive a notification reminding them that starting March 1st, 2010, their PC will begin experiencing bi-hourly shutdowns. These shutdowns will continue through June 1st, 2010.
On June 1st, 2010, a non-genuine experience is triggered where your wallpaper is removed and ???This copy of Windows is not genuine??? will be displayed in the lower right corner above the taskbar. This means your PC will no longer be able to obtain optional updates or downloads that require genuine Windows validation.
To avoid any data loss, I suggest making plans to move to a released version of Windows 7 before the automatic shutdowns start. During these shutdowns, your work will not be saved.
Remember, pre-release versions of Windows are unsupported. For more information on the expiration of the Windows 7 RC, see this KB article.
To move to a released version of Windows 7, you??™ll need to do a custom (clean) install to replace the installation of the Windows 7 RC. I suggest install, reinstall, uninstall Windows page on Windows.com which covers all kinds of installation scenarios.

#8 | | According to Microsoft there are about 70 'cracks' for Windows 7. One of those would give you some extra time to save for a genuine version. |

#22 | | I am using Version 6. 1 (Build 7000) trial of Ultimate. The winver tells me this too: Evaluation copy. Expires 7/2/2009 12:59PM It's still going with not a threat of me buying the full ver, or shutdowns. The reason I use this ver and not the full retail is that the full ver doesn't let me go through my Aus proxy. The proxy icon on my taskbar immediately turns (blocked) red when I try access any site. I'm on BorderNet sat.

#26 | | If you want a share of the workstation OS, you need to have that linux disk in your hand, preferably a fresh distro with a solid equivalence of Windows Media Centre, that includes hauppauge drivers, H. 264 support, tunes all of the DVB-T channels and works with the MCE remote and IR blaster. If it needs a second disk, or cracks of PowerDVD, or endless updates - don't even bother applying. |

#30 | Well one to replace windows 7. This has been on a few of them or similar wording -we strongly recommend that only experienced computer users sign up. Yes I can use a computer but just ya basic stuff. Your probably rolling you eyes now haha |

#32 | Yea I know, but pays to be safe than sorry. I did try it to and it did the same. Getting it activated again is like drawing teeth sometimes. Involving format, re install etc. .
Just me personally, dont take the risk. As it doesnt secure and patch windows just updates way for windows to discover its not genuine. Hence you don't need it if you have pirated windows. Not that I encourage it. |
