Problem after IE8 Update

#1 | | friend has brought her comp round after windows updated her to IE8, its a hp compaq running windows XP, it just keeps going through the start up mode and gives the options to start normally, last known and safe mode but neither is working, any suggestions would be great | |

what was she doing before it started faulting? [yes i see you installed ie8]
is it the exact same error as before it was moved?
do you have the original windows disc? |
