when you go over the limit your capped to 64k, it mite be worth using a bandwidth monitor on your PC's and reducing usage :)

looks fine. you could be some distance from an exchange/cabinet or the quality of your line could be bad.

Slow but we know it is. We only live 2 street away from an exchange.

If we switched to wireless would it likely be faster or slower?
geek_gyrogearloose March 7, 2010, 6:42 pm

Yes.

Alright, I wasn't being very helpful to . . pip. . my suggestion, noting that you are 2 streets from the exchange, is to make sure your modem is ADSL2+. If it isn't, buy a new one, or ring your ISP and ask them for a new one and say that another ISP has offered you a free new modem and you will sign with them just to obtain a free ADSL2+ modem. And make sure your internal wiring is immaculate - rewire the telephone wiring is you have to, DON'T use any extension phone leads or mickey mouse wiring. And finally, if you hear any noise on your phone, ring your phone provider and log a job for a technician to fix their noisy line. (maybe the T. A. exchange isn't ADSL2+ enabled, but some people 2 streets from an exchange will report speeds 10 times better than yours).

Most unusuall... . what is that Wee Glassgee Boy up to Mon? ? ?

YES! ! ! I was onto telecom this last weekend. They claim I have used 3GB in less than 14 days, so they slowed my speed down to dial-up speed! They then admitted to having issues with their broadband meter, so they have "de throttled" my connection so I receive full b/b speeds again. Call 0800108010 x 94864 and give them sh... .

Explain how checking a few emails at night, my TM account and possibly spending 20 minutes on Facebook could use 3GB in a month or less? Nope, no kids in the house, I'm the ONLY user. My network is very secure. When I first joined telecom b/b I was only on 1 GB and never even came close to using it, then they upgraded to 3GB for the same price plan, but now say I've gone over the limit? ? ? Telecom have MAJOR issues at the moment, not only the XT network but clearly their b/b is stuffed too.
Time we all told Telecom to get it sorted!
