Do you mean how do you transfer a broadband account from one address to another? You ring your ISP (before you move ideally).

I have already called Telecom and changed everything over. I am now in my new house and have broadband connected, but it says it is connected to my old physical address - how do you change it to a new address? It's just a word, but I'm curious.

'it' says "connected to my [old physical address]"

this doesn't make sense... ... ... . . please post the EXACT message... ... . verbatim

What does it say (exactly, word for word) and where is it saying it? Leave out your exact address if that's what it's saying...

When you click on the Broadband icon on my toolbar, it says "currently connected to - ** somewhere road" and I want it to say "** something place". I guess it is semantics, and it doesn't really matter that much as it is working anyway, but I would just like to rename it.

I'm guessing you might have named your connection (in My Network Places) "123 Somewhere Rd"? Is that what you mean?

OK, so follow the same principles as you do for renaming other "files". Right click and see where you go ... . I don't have windows so I can't check.

I'll bet s/he's connected via wireless, & she named her wireless SSID as her old street. Ask telecom how to access your router & change the SSID

Aaah.

That's what my money is on. Probably a bad SSID too. I guess it lets people know who they are stealing bandwidth from
