#8 | It's wrong because there are different frequencies used. Vodafone uses 2100 UMTS while Telecom uses 850mhz WCDMA, therefore just because the phone works on Vodafone 3G network, doesn't mean it automatically works on Telecom. Make sure you check that phone supports BOTH frequencies in order to work on BOTH Vodafone and Telecom. Someone on TM is currently selling the phone that works on both and is actually sold by Telecom in NZ, citing their reason for selling as only working on Vodafone and not working on Telecom, so they are claiming they want to sell it and buy a Telecom version of the same phone, which is bull, no matter how much they want to deny it. |

#9 | | telecom have some 2100MHz sites, so you may see it work and be happy, only to go somewhere else and see it not work. |

#10 | | True, but only in big cities and certain locations, so I wouldn't quite rely on it yet... So better to stick with what works, although with XT nothing does. |

#19 | Telecom users WCDMA 850mhz, NOT MANY OR ANY Vodefones use or come out with the option of using THAT NETWORK SETTING! ! !
It's NOT something you can turn on, it's part of the phone & the WCDMA is NOT supported by v/phone.
Buy yourself a XT phone if you want to use a XT sim card! ! ! |

#22 | If poster #1, ever comes in here I will think twice to giving them any help... I have often seen others turn away from helping people that don't want to listen to the advice that is handed out in here...
Also have seen people get "blacklisted" due to the same sort of things too, and that was cos of the feedbacks etc... | |
