god why are lcd replacements so expensive?

#1 | jeez its crazy the price of laptop parts are more expensive than an actual complete working laptop - crazy.
comon guys give me the low low, i need a 15. 4" wxga 1280x800 tft but the lowest i can find is $150 for second hand, and the laptop is probably only worth $200 complete if lucky (compaq pres v5000) | |

#7 | Well lets think about this for a mo.
Most half decent manufacturers plan on having to have parts available for at least 5-7 years (swear it's true). So they have to price in warehousing and handling for the part over this period. |
