Fastest broadband provider in NZ ?

#1 | | Im looking to get a faster braodband for watching TVs online. Is there any company that provides a faster broadband but not DSL? Your helps will be much appreciated. Cheers | |

Telecom owns the lines and from what I've seen and heard they're the fastest (on average) nationwide. Just steer clear of XT ;) |

#3 | | all providers provide speeds as fast as your lines allow... unless you go for a plan that has a speed cap. so it all depends on what plans suit your needs ... best to check if where you live allows adsl2 connectivity , most isp websites will have a checker on there for you |

#10 | | Most telstra clear cable plans are 10mbps unless your on the 120GB a month plan which is 25mbps but like $230 lol |

#14 | get the next modem up which is thompson but then again it might be old I've had this for over 12mnths now but also telecom have unlimited gb's $100. a mnth I was on 5gb per mnth then started watchin movies, then it slowed me up cos I went over the allotted gb's. I upgraded to unlimited n payed n xtra $20. watch movies all the time now |

#15 | | yeah, all providers are not as fast as you line will allow. We were with Orcon as well and our speeds went down to 700kbps (yep under 1MB) and changing to Xtra with everything the same it went up to 18Mbps instead. Orcon's network suxed for us. |

#20 | | We have just got telstraclear broadband and it is superfast use to wait round for ages with dialup now the page appears instantly and photos which use to take about 10min lol are there instantly |

#21 | Well hello, broadband can be 100 times faster than dialup.
In fact on this connection, hubby reliably informs me it's almost 200 times faster. |
