#1 | | One of my folders from Outlook express went into the recycle bin for some unknown reason. I restored it but it has ended up on my desktop as a . bak file. I cannot seem to find an 'open with' option and I really need to access some of the messages in the folder. Anyone have a solution as to how I can get this back into Outlook express or even somewhere else and read the messages. TIA | |

#4 | rename the file to *. dbx In Outlook Express create a new empty folder of the same name. Check the location of the files - in Tools > Maintenance, Store location (something like that). Close Outlook Express. Move the renamed file into your store location. |

#7 | | think you'll have to go into controlpanel/folder options/view and UNtick 'hide extensions for known file types' then clik apply/ok and go and tell me what the name of that 'dbx' file IS. |

#8 | I gave you a Plan B.
Plan A might still work, as long as you have no existing folder with the same name. Also you have to import via the parent folder. You don't import the DBX file itself, I think. |
