Help computer keeps turning off :(

#1 | | Could someone please help me, my laptop a presario CQ60 which runs vista keeps turning off. I run avast (free version) and thats picking up nothing abnormal. TIA :) | |

#3 | | Nope no beeps, thought is could be over heating as first time had been on for awhile but since then its whenever it feels like it, once even when no one was using it, either on FB, TM and normally have hotmail/msn open too. And i dont understand your last ? sorry. |

#5 | | Yep only when firefox is open, when i restart firefox comes up with a restore session tab saying "Well, this is embarrassing. Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page. " |

#8 | | Afternoon... Ok couple of things have happened. . 1st when the lid/screen was accidently knocked it turned off and when i restarted firefox there was no message, I forgot to go in safemode and within a couple of mins it turned off and this time I got the error message from firefox. |

#10 | | Sorry it turned of again even in safemode this time. Yep itsturnin off regardless of firefox. I have opened event viewer but i have no idea what im looking at/for :) |

#12 | Yep firefox's safe mode. I have notice this afternoon that it might have something to do with the power cord even though the power light stays on the whole time cos i/miss 2 have knocked the cord a couple of times and it turns off :(I wouldnt know onto boot into the bios will google and attempt that later tonight once kidlets are in bed :) |

#13 | | Umm... just unplug it & try it on the battery for awhile & see if you get it rebooting if you suspect the power cord. |

#14 | | The other day while I had the battery in charging it would still turn off :( which is why i didnt think of the power cord then but will give it ago with just the battery tonight and see what happens. |

#19 | | Check the state of the battery. Power might not be getting to the battery. Open the power manager and check how much charge you have. | |
