How exactly did you do that?

(and I mean the exact steps you took to get into this situation, step by step)

turn the comp off at the wall (yes at the wall), do not use shutdown and do not switch it on again. Call a tech to recover the data. the more you use the comp the less chance there is of recovering any data. the hard drive will need to be scanned using data recovery software in another computer

better yet... ... . . turn the comp off at the wall... ... . get the box it was packed in ... ... repack it ... . take it back to the shop you got it from... ... give it to them... ... tell them they can have it back as you are too dumb to use it... .

You need to slave your hard drive to another pc & use recuva or Getdatabak to recover your files.

# 6 How do i do that and this aint no wind up unfortuantly
geek_0800xford March 16, 2010, 3:37 pm

you take it out of your computer and either put it in an enclosure or connect it directly to another computer then use the recovery software to attempt to recover your data.

it's VERY important to NOT USE THE DRIVE until then
the data gets overwritten
geek_blenheim-trader March 16, 2010, 3:47 pm
#14
I hope your not using the pc you formatted to post this? ?
geek_tuiboy1 March 16, 2010, 3:47 pm
#15

geek_blenheim-trader March 16, 2010, 3:49 pm

As 0800 has stated you are overwriting the existing data that was on your computer as i type... .

bro, disconnect it and take it to the shop and explain what happened. It's probably to late anyway but anyone who formats there harddrive unintentionally doesnt know enough about computers to be able to be stepped through how to reverse the process.
