#1 | ! st question I am sick of how slow my v/f vodem is on vista. It works real fast on XP. So is there a Linux version that runs on a CD so I can put in my Vista computer and run a v/f vodem from it.
2nd question. I have a program (T5 suite) that exports files to Excel. I have a trial version of excel, but i want to export it to OO calc. I can't figure how to do this in the propgram menu.
I guess this is a command embedded in the program. There is no menu to change the way it works.
I have legit copy of Word 95 (floppy disk version) and an upgrade to Office 2000. However my XP has no CD drive or floppy drive. It is a mini laptop.
Comments welcome. | |

#2 | Some/most vodems need a bit of setting up to work under ubuntu. You probably won't have much luck using a vodem from a live CD unless you've got lucky and have one of the easy ones.
Just export to excel then open the excel files in OO Calc (either right-click on the file and choose 'open with' or start OO calc first and then open those excel files from OO's file menu)
You can copy the files to install MS Office over a network connection and install it that way, but I suspect you're going to have issues with the 'upgrade' part wanting you to insert the original Word95 floppy into the floppy drive you don't have.
My advice is that you should probably install OpenOffice 3. 2. It'll be less hassle and is a lot more up to date than Office 2000 anyhow. | |
