Sure is. After 5pm it takes a huge dive and the speedtest results are useless. A friend on xnet also has found the speed decrease. I have found it so bad that I changed over to another ISP today. I even tried a new router etc but i'm guessing its plain overloading.

Yeah i've found Xnet to be pretty slow lately. Not slow enough for me to change ISPs though.

I found the same with all the provider's I have tried - they all start off good, then within about 8 months the speed slows down to nearly nothing! So I tried kiwilink, they're awesome... fast as all the time. Best thing when you ring them, you can understand them all - great stuff!

Yup, becoming more than simply an annoyance now. Either overloading or throttling on Telecoms end. I'm giving them 2 more months (when the roadside cabinet in my area will be complete). If still no improvement, I will definitely be switching.

Just looked at kiwilink koz i was curious as to what they charge. i couldnt understand their plans is the $45 phone line incl in the full speed plans? ? i. e the $80 20GB Plan? ?

also they say they dont have contracts but they charge you if u leave them within 12 months? ? that kinda sounds like a contract (or a early termination fee , which is what a plan enforces)

Yip was waiting for the roadside cabinet and it happened a couple of weeks back. My modem connects at adsl2+ and my max data rate has doubled but of course because I am not on full speed up down it had no effect - slowed down actually. Looked at kiwilink, it works out 15-20 more than most equivalent plans. There plans are much like xnet in structure.

Like any isp there will be people having no problems and if you are not a "downloader" I doubt you will notice the difference. I will comment tomorrow when the new isp is hooked up. Should be interesting.
