If a company can not open a pdf they need to replace their IT person.

Ive seen this alot, whether its Word 2007 or Open Office, people dont actually realise they are saving files as . ODT or . DocX etc. Having file endings hidden doesnt help!

I prefer PDF as its more for presentation. Eg word reveals all sorts.

Unless things changed microsoft had made it not possible for other companies like openoffice to be able to save in the . docx format, they could only read it.

If you're using Word 2007, you can save your document as 'compatible with word 97-2003". When you want to save it, click on the arrow at the right side, and list of about 15options opens up.

There is an option on Openoffice to save as . doc instead of . odt
