Time to Get rid of the 3gs then?

Now that the new iPhone 4 has been officially released, I guess it's time to get rid of the old 3gs.

How much is reasonable on here for a Mint Condition White 32Gb 3gs?

geek_baker-assoc, Jun 8, 7:39 am

Think ill hang on to my 3GS. Cant see much point in the upgrade. Front camera for video calls? And im sure vodafone are not going to let that go for free... ... . . (data charge)
1 Hour longer batter life? ... ... . ill wait for the next 4G?
4. 0 OS... . 3GS will get that also... . .

geek_big_kahuna, Jun 8, 7:43 am

Good upgrade for me, I have a 3G, very nice. How is it a 1 hour battery increase? I thought it was a 40% increase, you can watch 10 hours of video.

The screen seems amazing, highest resolution screen on a phone, really tough glass.

Sorry was looking at WIFI as thats what i use mostly... . . 2 hours talk... . still crap

geek_big_kahuna, Jun 8, 8:10 am

Video calling is WiFi only in 2010.
The IPS screen is enough for me to change. Four times as many pixels as the 3GS. The 5mp camera, HD video are also points to upgrade lol

geek_juuuulz, Jun 8, 8:21 am

Less than $1, 099. Good luck getting $1000 for it

geek_juuuulz, Jun 8, 8:22 am

the iOS 4. 0 will work with 3gs models. it's just an update. but if you're talking about the phone. I don't think it's worth the upgrade... . yet. Unless you really want the additional features of 4G

geek_trevix2k, Jun 8, 9:32 am

It'd be worth it for the screen alone.

The screen on older iPhones is absolutely blown out of the water by more modern hardware, and the new iPhone should be even better than its competitors.

iPhone 4 doesn't have 4G.

Face time wifi restriction is carrier dependent so the problem AT&T has may not apply to Vodafone/XT/2 Degrees whoever retails this phone in NZ. Wait and see.

It's likely I'll upgrade my 8GB 3G to this but not until all NZ networks lay their cards on the table...

Reckon, The "iPhone 4" will go on sale on June 24 in Britain, France, Germany, Japan and the United States and will cost US$199 for the 16 gigabyte model and $299 for the 32GB version. New Zealanders will get the device by the end of July, according to Apple.

Finally a good price only 448 NZ for the 32gb

geek_johnf_456, Jun 8, 10:19 am

Source please!
You can't convert AT&T contract prices to NZ dollars and quote them as fact. Wait until the Vodafone announcement.

You clearly have no idea on current iPhone pricing then as Vodafone have plans where the iPhone is subsidised to $0.

geek_carkitter, Jun 8, 10:57 am

I do, now...

geek_johnf_456, Jun 8, 11:03 am

But in saying that, thats US Vs. NZ pricing which is very different of course. As we always pay more.

geek_johnf_456, Jun 8, 11:19 am

Do some more research.
You'll find AT&T don't allow tethering unlike Vodafone and now restrict plans to 2GB where Vodafone is still supplying 3GB at present to plans much cheaper than AT&T sells.

Chalk and cheese. Wait for the Vodafone announcement.

geek_carkitter, Jun 8, 11:23 am

That we will, mmm android vs Iphone for my next phone decisions...

geek_johnf_456, Jun 8, 11:27 am

It looks pretty good to be honest

How the hell do apple do that? ! ! !

geek_bidda2, Jun 8, 12:10 pm

I will be upgrading my 3GS, its about 99% chance that the current vodafone prices will remain exactly the same.

Just "upgraded" to a 3GS ... won't be getting a 4 unless my benevolent overlords decide to buy one for me.

geek_dunedin_ree, Jun 8, 7:29 pm

my old clunker lg phone ($999 2 years ago D:) started crapping out a couple of weeks ago, looked at my options and then remembered the new iphone. very happy we only have to wait until july (albeit end of july, and allegedly). price will no doubt be outrageously expensive, but whatever. I want a piece of the iphone action!
