AMD M320 is pretty outdated, good deal if you just mainly watch videos and surf net, but wouldnt be a good deal if you going any graphics or opening RAW photos

Review

The Toshiba Satellite L500D/015 is an unashamedly low-end notebook, but for $599 it??™s still definitely worthwhile. An AMD Athlon II M320 CPU and ATI Radeon HD 3100 graphics card may not seem like much, but in a price bracket where dedicated graphics are rare these are decent components. You won??™t be playing any modern games on this notebook, but if you go back to the early 2000??™s you??™ll find games that will happily run. A 15. 6in (1366 by 768), 4GB of RAM and 320GB hard drive keep up the standard. It??™s a bit hefty though, weighing 2. 72kg and measuring 382 by 259 by 39 mm. The Toshiba Satellite L500D/015 notebook is basically a competent low-end notebook for those who don??™t want a netbook but don??™t want to break the bank either.

I was looking at one of those for a friend, they want a new laptop, but they don't do much on it, email, web and word. Might be on the heavy side for them though.

Whats the build quality like? I was going to go to DSE and have a look. Obviously I am not expecting AWESOME! but yeah.

Build quality is as about as good as you get these days , the only thing i don't like is the screen size but that's the new norm , horrible wide screen. .

Unless you wont to spend $$$ this is about what you would expect for the money , I must admit Toshiba's support is awful compared to a few years ago. .

For the average users that isn't into gaming its cheap. .

Why anyone would use a laptop for gaming is beyond me.
