#1 | | Bought ipod off here some time ago. Not used until now but what I want to do is load a selection of favourites I have on pc (that I used on MP3). I am not bothered about iTunes. Also when my iPod is plugged in the orange light flashes continuously. | |

#3 | | Yes - that's it. When charging orange light is not blinking. Info says that if it is blinking do not disconect from pc? Fed up with this now, another impulse buy for someone (me) who is getting too damned old to understand these things. Only got it to replace MP3 as the 'shuffle' feature was the attraction. Thanks... maybe grandson will suss it out when he next calls - I think it has summat to do with iTunes. |

#4 | "ipods" aren't the only option, an other branded DAP will do what you want. www.dapreview.net/news. php
and you won't be forced to use "itunes" or some 'inferior' "alternative" |

#5 | | Just to clarify the situation. I have one gig of favourites in "My Music" all I want to do is put them onto the ipod (was easy with the MP3). Do itunes and all the downloading etc have to be used. Thanks. |

#10 | Just use iTunes unless you have a particular aversion to it. Add your mp3s to itunes, sync with the shuffle
