Have a Logitech wireless keyboard and puzzled my PC doesn??™t recognise keys until XP has fully loaded. Just means I can??™t hit ???enter??? during start up ( to speed up loading). I??™ve missedsomething? It's not a major. Thanks.

possibly because the software that sends/receives the signal isn't running until windows has booted [but i haven't googled so wouldn't really know]
maybe use a secondary keyboard to get into the bios etc when you need to?

You'll need to change it in the bios settings.

Since when does hitting enter during start up speed up loading, have I missed something?

Used to be able to kick along loading a little by hitting "enter" when the 60 second countdown ran. Think it was on the 2nd or 3rd black start screen which showed PLEASE SELECT WINDOWS OR XP. As regards Bios, sorry, don't have the skill or knowhow. But thanks.

quick funny story: someone had [for some bizarre unknown reason] two keyboards attached, one was jammed behind the desk with several keys depressed, they wondered why the computer sometimes just did random things... like typing all by itself and turn itself on and off starting the media player etc

Should've mentioned kicking the thing along was when using the old wire connected keys.

press [windows logo key] + [r] to get the run box
then type "msconfig" without the "quotes", press [enter] you can change it in there.

Can do msconfig, but how do I change bios. And to what? Ta.

you aren't changing the BIOS, you are changing the boot time.
look for where it says says "60 seconds" and change it to "0"

you can change it from control panel > system > startup and recovery too from memory
