Mouse speed settings for touchpad...

#1 | | Hi, I have a Sony Vaio Vista laptop and usually use a plug-in USB mouse with it, however sometimes I use the touchpad instead. Problem is that the settings on the touchpad mean the the mouse pointer moves too slowly, I have to adjust it by going to Control Panel>Mouse>Pointer Options and change the pointer speed - and this setting won't stay that way! The next time I turn the computer on it has reverted back to the original slower setting and I have to change it again. Does anyone know how I can keep it on the 'faster' setting permanently? Thanks in advance :) | |

#2 | | it's probably more the synaptics touch pad settings you need to change not the mouse pointer... ... ... ... ... . |

#3 | | Thanks drspy, I went to the Device Setting part of the Mouse options and had a look around there, gives me options for the buttons, virtual scrolling, sensitively etc but can't find a way to alter the pointer speed. |

#4 | | well when you alter the pointer speed 'ordinarily' it should stay that way if you are cliking apply/ok etc etc ? |

#5 | | Yeah I click apply, then ok. It works at the faster setting until I turn the laptop off. When it turns on again it has reverted back to the original setting. |
