| | geek_shrapz | March 9, 2008, 9:00 pm | #2 | | ..... windows messenger is listed under add/remove windows components | | geek_isellavon | March 9, 2008, 9:01 pm | #3 | | Yup, been there and it's not there!! | | geek_isellavon | March 9, 2008, 9:01 pm | #4 | | It's very bizzare :( | | geek_shrapz | March 9, 2008, 9:19 pm | #5 | | Ahh i know why ive modified my winxp to view it. You can try this. Bit tricky but it works. Go into your c drive , Then windows folder , on the top go to tools then folder options. click the view tab and then move the dot to "show hidden files and folders" then press ok. Now go through that list and go into a folder called "inf" then find a file thats called "sysoc" and right click on it and open with notepad. Now in that file at different places it will say ,hide, go through that file and remove the word hide that you find anywhere. Remember just remove the word and leave the , , bits there. Once done go to file then save, close out then go to add/remove windows components again and see if windows messenger is listed | | geek_d.snell | March 9, 2008, 9:19 pm | #6 | | Go to add / remove programs and on the left side click "add / remove windows components" windows messenger is the bottom entry.. | | geek_shrapz | March 9, 2008, 9:23 pm | #7 | | Actually scrap my last post. Its viewable by default with out that. Yes as d.snell says. When you go to add remove programs it has a button on the left that says add / remove windows components. Should be listed under there | | geek_isellavon | March 9, 2008, 9:48 pm | #8 | | It's not there.. i have looked five times now! haha. I know a bit about computers, just can't understand where this has gone and why it won't work in the first place. | | Leave your comment: | |
