Web hosting & cron support.

It is usual to have cron support with most web hosts?

Most hosts have it, whether they like you using it is another story. I think they get hesitant when newbies start doing cronjobs and dont really know what it is they are doing.

BTW I am not saying you are a newbie

haha, but that is exactly what I am. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I'm stumbling around with a couple of scripts and hoping for the best - 'monkey see - monkey do'. I did wonder if there were reasons why my main host doesn't offer the option to use them.

Yes it is usual for hosts to have them, however I suspect the really cheap ones may not have it. It can cause problems for the server, and all other people on that server, if you don't know how to use it, and you schedule it to run highly intensive CPU tasks all the time.

I think a lot of entry level hosting plans don??t have it.
