64bit Windows 7 vs 32 bit

I have a new mac and have parallels so i can run a second OS.Whats the benefit of the 64 bit?

It can handle more RAM and software that has been made for 64 bit systems will run better.

On the downside SOME old software won't work as well. But i've been using 64bit 7 for a couple of years and i've only found 1 or 2 such programs.

Remember that you are "sharing" your RAM with Windows when you're running Parallels. So if you only have (for example) 2GB of RAM then the ability for a 64-bit OS to address more RAM won't mean a thing.
