Acer Laptop running windows vista

is it possible to put windows 7 onto a laptop running this.We bought a new computer and it came with a windows 7 disk.Would it go onto the laptop as vista is a pain.

you would need a seperate windows liscense to do that and you'd have to buy it.........(couple hundred dollars)...........AND you'd have to check theres drivers available for your acer........

If it's running Vista, then Win7 x86 will work on it no problem but as above, you will need to buy a NEW retail version of 7 as the disk you got with the new computer will most likely be only compatible with THAT computer.

regardless of 'compatiblity' the fact is that when you install windows you NEED to 'activate' it within usually 30 days and you need an INDIVIDUAL liscense key for that.......which you have to buy......when you buy a copy of windows you buy the key (and the cd is thrown in)........you CANT use that existing key you have from your new computer and most likely as lostdude says it's not a compatible disk anyway it's made to be used on THAT COMPUTER and no other
