Is an ADSL cable

known by another name? Are phone line plugs or patch cable plugs RJ45's? What is the plug number for an adsl cable? Do i make any bloody sense? All info appreciated. Cheers.

RJ11 phone socket back of your modem. On the wall tis a BT i think.

RJ45 is a Plug (Or known as a Network Cable) these typically come from your modem (Router / Switch) to your computer.

A RJ11 (Phone) is what plugs into the back of your modem into the adsl filter. (unless you have a master filter then you would need a RJ11 to BT [ Phone Wall Jack] cable)

RJ45 is the plug on the end of an ethernet (patch) cable (Cat4, 5, 5E, 6 have increasing max speed).
