Sfc scannow "need to be an administrator" ???

hi am trying to fix display problem on a computer running windows 7, was advised to run the command sfc/scannow but when I try it tells me that I need to be the administrator, can someone point me in the right direction plz

maybe right-click the command prompt (All Programs, Accessories, Command Prompt) and select 'run as administrator'?

Ive never found SFCscan now to find anythingbut Mindofroot podcast found it usefull.

What problem do you have
