Asus Lightscribe I was looking at buying one of these but how do I know if I need a SATA or IDE please

It will depend on the configuration of your motherboard. More info on the board would help.

That is what I need help with where do I look to find out what kind of motherboard I have

I did a Belarc profile on the computer it is a Lenovo J3000 series desktop running vista but I have no clues on where to find what kind of motherboard

Go to control panel double click on system under the hardware tab double click device manager and then double click on cd/dvd drives then double click on you existing cd/dvd drive and under the details tab it will tell the type you currently have

Thank You It says ATA so I guess I would buy a SATA lightscribe

No, that doesn't meanits SATA easiest way would be to open the case and check the cable type.

Andeven if your current type is IDE, doesn't mean your motherboard doesn't support SATA.

Oh maybe I will just give it a miss would an external one be easier, lol maybe will just stick to printing them rather than getting lightscribe. It is only a want not a need
